Taipei has two international airports: Taoyuan and Songshan, both of which are accessible via public transit. Taxis are also very reasonably priced in Taipei.
Our banquet venue is in Taipei's Xinyi district, where Taipei's famous 101 tower and financial district is located. We recommend, if you are staying from out of town, booking a hotel close to this area. We can also book you a hotel room at the Le Méridien at a discount; just let us know.
Le Mérdien's closest metro stop is "Taipei City Hall", exit 3 for Xinyi shopping district.
We will be on the second floor of the Le Méridien.
We will be getting started at 11:30AM! We will serve lunch with many courses, so come hungry.
Feel free to roam around during the banquet to chat with our other friends and family members, take photos at the photo stop, or dance. We will be doing small speeches and other activities in between courses.

We don't expect any gifts; the best gift is sharing our joy with friends and family. However, if you feel inclined to give us a gift anyway, consider sending us a contribution towards our future. It is logistically complicated to ship gifts to Iceland (our new home), but we would like to eventually buy a home together!

This list is non-exhastive, but we wanted to provide some recommendations...
☆ Get cash (at home or at the airport): many street vendors and local shops ONLY take cash ☆ Short sleeved shirts and shorts ☆ Good walking shoes ☆ A foldable umbrella ☆ A waterproof jacket ☆ Sunhat ☆ Swimsuit: there a lots of nice hotsprings around Taiwan where you will need to wear a swimsuit
Taiwan is typically warm and tropical, but december is a little colder and raininer than the rest of the year. You can expect highs of 66°F (19°C) to a low of 60°F (16°C). We would recommend preparing for rain; bring a little umbrella and a water resistent outer layer.
Taipei has an excellent metro system. Make sure you pick up an EasyCard at the airport; they're typically sold at "Klook" stands, MRT kiosks, or convienience stores (7-11). The EasyCard will allow you to tap on/tap off any metro train, bus statation, light rail, or gondola in Taipei. You can even pay for sandwiches at 7-11.
Google Maps has great directions for how to get from one place to another via metro; it will even tell you which metro exit to take when leaving underground.
